demon slayer -kimetsu no yaiba- the movie: mugen train
Later this year, the final Demon Slayer theatrical release will be released on Blu-ray, along with a Limited Edition bundle loaded with extras.
On December 21, Mugen Train’s historic theatrical debut with Demon Slayer: Kimestu No Yaiba will finally be available on Blu-ray.
Before the year is through, the critically praised anime will be released in both standard and limited editions, according to Funimation. The music on CD, a plush booklet, and an outer hard case with fresh artwork created by character designer Akira Matsuhshima are all included in the Mugen Train Limited Edition bundle.
The commentary on the Blu-ray will also have English subtitles provided by the voices of Tanjiro Kamado (Natsuki Hanae), Nezuka Kamado (Akari Kito), Zenitsu Agatsuma (Hiro Shimono), Inosuke Hashibira (Yoshitsugu Matsuoka), and Satoshi Hino (Kyojuro Rengoku). Right Stuf, an anime distributor, is currently taking pre-orders for the Limited Edition pack.
The anime series, which debuted in Japan in 2020, broke the previous record for highest-grossing animated film in that nation, Spirited Away by Studio Ghibli, with earnings of almost 40 billion yen. The movie, which only had a few screenings in North America in April, outperformed the R rating that the MPAA had given it and had the greatest opening weekend of any foreign-language movie there has ever been, grossing over $19 million USD in its first week of distribution. This Blu-ray release will be the first time a physical copy of the movie will be offered; earlier this year, it was streamable through Funimation’s subscription service.
The seventh chapter of Koyoharu Gotouge’s original Demon Slayer manga served as the basis for Mugen Train, which was released in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2016. The tale of Tanjiro Kamado, a decent boy, is told in the television show. When Belly and Smart goes home one day, he discovers that a demon has killed most of his family members and that his remaining sibling is becoming into a demon. Tanjiro makes the decision to pick up his sword and join the ranks of the demon hunters after saving his sister’s life from a wandering demon slayer.
Ufotable’s studio produced the manga’s initial anime series in 2019. The second season of the show is expected to start airing before the end of the year and will adapt the beloved Entertainment District, immediately after the Mugen Train’s incidents.
